Sunday morning Jerry decided that we should go to Elko and shop. This sounded very exciting to me. I really enjoy going to "the city" to shop. We made our rounds to Taco Bell and Wal-Mart. Then we decided to go to Home Depot. I really wasn't that excited about Home Depot. Little did I know that we were going to get a grill. I have been living in Ely for over a year now and have not been able to grill. Honestly, I missed it. So we bought our little grill and spent some time Monday night assembling it. It was a lot of fun. The first thing Jerry and I have assembled for our home. The best part is that I grilled some great steaks on it. Jerry even gave me the thumbs up. Well, here is to happy grilling all summer long.

Cold
This will make Sara happy.
It was one of my new year resolutions to post more. It is now the 17th of January and I have not posted one thing. So here is my first post of 2008.
This morning I woke up to a -26 (negative) degree wind chill. I wish I still lived in Las Vegas. I arrived to a 45 degree classroom. The boiler went out last night, seeing that my building is the farthest from the main building it was the last one to receive heat. It was 63 degrees at noon. I really wish I still lived in Las Vegas. As I left my classroom this afternoon I walk up the bus drive way that is iced and everyday becomes more icy. I slip, I don't fall, but it was close. I really, really wish I was in Las Vegas. How many days until summer?

Camping Trip
Can you see Bailey? Yup, that is him, behind the large piece of wood. He liked to chew on the piece of wood that was too large. It really made no sense but he was attached to the log.
Bailey is having a blast with all the wood for the fire. He enjoyed picking out the largest pieces and showing them how strong he was. Most of the time that is where we could find him.Bailey really enjoyed the rock that was in the center of the camp site. He spent a lot of his time using as a perch for his "big" head.

There is Bailey in the wilderness. Ok, maybe not the wilderness, but he is camping. Bailey, Jerry, and I have spent the last week camping with his family at Timber Creek. Timber Creek is about 30 minutes from Ely and is a great escape. Bailey had a great time playing with the other dogs and acting like a big dog! He chewed on huge logs that were three times his size if not bigger. He is a dreamer.

Bailey's visit to the vet
Bailey had to visit the vet today. He has kennel cough. He sounds just like a cat coughing up a hair ball but nothing comes up. I feel bad for him. He is on some medicine and should be better in a few days. Bailey was really good at the vet. She was able to cut his nails and even get his temperature (the fun way)! Well, just wanted to keep everyone updated on Bailey. Love you all!

Cave Lake

Wow! Just finished the hardest hike of my life. I went with two friends on a 4 mile hike at about 7,500 ft. It kicked my butt, but wow do I feel like I have accomplished something great. It was a hard 2 miles up, and I mean UP! It took a lot but was worthe it. Once to the top there was a bench, to rest, and a beautiful view of Cave Lake. It was so worth it. The hike down was fun and nice. I will be feeling it. Hopefully, in August you can see how beautiful it is around here. Maybe we wont do that particular hike, but it would be fun to see the area! Oh, and next time I am bringing a camera to show how high it was.

All about Bailey
Bailey is so much fun! He is acting like a puppy and keeping a smile on everyones faces. He is a loving dog that will curl up with you and take a nap! He loves to lay in laps and give big kisses. He is adjusting well to the new life and is always excited when he sees Jerry or I. It is great to have such a cool dog! As you can see below in the pictures, Bailey is a lot of fun!
